Great Depression Part 2 Review
Directions: Under each complete the phrase, answer the question, fill in the blank, or define the definition.
How did GD affect cities?
People lost there Jobs and then eventually lost there homes and had to move out of the cities and that effected the stores and shops in the cities because they would recieve no business eventully leding the shop owners Jobless and homeless as well
How did the unemployed live?
The Unemployed who became homeless lived in Shantytowns called Hoovervilles
How did GD affect farmers?
The income they generated was not enough to buy new supplies or pay for the supplies the farm needed
What other problems did farmers face? Droughts Dust Storms and price reduction of there products made it harder for them to come out of debt causing them to have to move place to place and even become tenament farmers
How did GD affect family life?
Many Men left there Families from the shame of not being able to suport them. The Birth rate dropped drasticly and some children even ran away from home and women were put in the position to suport there families
How did Hoover try to handle the depression?
He encourages Voluntarism and asked the government to lower intrest rates and taxes
